I was on a movie tour of San Francisco the other day (we were all in a bus, they'd show us clips from movies that were shot in San Francisco, then they'd take us to the place where they were filmed... we also saw the That's So Raven house. For any of you who also enjoy old school Disney TV) and... at one point our tour guide turned to a couple of people from England and said "FAIRIES DON'T EXIST." It made slightly more sense in context... but it was just too awesome to not tell all of you about.
Yesterday, we all had dinner at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Factory here in San Francisco on Fisherman's Wharf/Pier 39. Because, you know, it's not at all like we could have done that at home. (For those of you who don't know, there's one of those in Times Square.) But, that being said... it's still sweet, there's still Forrest Gump everywhere which is just a beautiful movie, and then there was a little Forrest Gump trivia thing that the waitress did with us... and we literally got every single question right. Every. Single. One. I am so proud of my family and I. And these are really obscure questions too. Like (don't look it up)... when Jenny and Forrest get married, what color shoes was she wearing?
Today, I was at a Chinese restaurant (it's not so bad... San Francisco DOES have a famous Chinatown, after all... but it's still not quite like New York Chinese food) and sitting in a booth nearby me, there were two people who I swear were pretty much Lavi and Krory from D.Gray-man. Except they were women. And they were old. But still. It was the hair. XD
FURTHER THINGS I'VE NOTICED ABOUT SAN FRANCISCO:
-It's really, really easy to get raped here. Just... SO many small, dark alleys, and they are EVERYWHERE.
-Poverty and homelessness and panhandling are super prevalent here. WAY more so than New York.
-I thought I knew what fog is before I came here. I didn't know what fog is. NOW I know what fog is.
-There are trees that are older than our knowledge of the Americas. And I have seen them. And they're pretty huge. But not as huge as I was told they would be. That being said, those trees have probably already been cut down.
-The local TV stations here are AWESOME, constantly having reruns of Friends, Scrubs, and Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Finally, before I end this... I have a habit of falling for the worst guys, don't I? Not that they're bad guys- not at all! They're just always guys who don't/can't fall for me in return. I should really cut that out. I just wish it was something that was more of a choice. :/
...My sleep schedule is going to be SO screwed up when I get back home.
Surprisingly enough, not much has changed. It might be having something to do with the fact that Edward doesn't sleep, and therefore doesn't really need a place to sleep or a Shelf to stay on or whatever, but he's... been getting by. And then Will, Data and Japan are running the Shelf like a real Star Fleet ship. They don't have that much to do, since there isn't anything that'll really lead to universal doom here... but they're doing various things- scientific missions and whatnot. I never thought there was so much to learn about my radiator... but it's occupied them for a solid month.
Meanwhile, Edward has clearly been getting more and more bored. You can tell by what he's been doing in his now endless amounts of free time. I'll wake up one day to find a stack of papers that was a mess the night before be all neat. One day I woke up to find my pens lined up in size and color order. Or another day I woke up to find all my music CDs (yes, I do still have some of those) organized in the order of when they came out by year, then what was his preference in that time frame. And he's been practicing with Data's violin too (although I'm not sure whether or not he has his permission to do it...) so the other day he was just standing by the window, looking out on the New York City street, playing Bella's Lullaby perfectly.
Then yesterday, he was looking outside the window again (I think the windowsill is his favorite place in my room), when, out of nowhere, Japan walked up to him.
( The irony that someone was watching Edward this time, instead of the other way around, was not lost on me. )
By the way... you asked for pics of my Halloween costume?
( Costume pics under the cut, to save your flists! )
Oh and um... so I got my SAT scores back today. You know, after taking it a second time?
Well, I went down in math, which was actually what I was taking it again to improve on, but... well, how's about I just give you my scores (all are out of 800, unless I say otherwise).
Critical Reading: 750
Composite score out of 1600: 1410
Composite score out of 2400: 2040
Critical Reading: 800
Composite score out of 1600: 1440
Composite score out of 2400: 2100
With Score Choice:
Composite score out of 1600: 1460
Composite score out of 2400: 2120
Um. I... wow. Don't know what to say. Just... wow. It's actually really awesome- I managed to do better than before, without proving my parents right (they just said I should take it for the math section, and I went down in that)... I just... wow.
Also, for the first time in years, I will be buying a Halloween costume. But it's not my fault- THEY HAVE STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION UNIFORMS. WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO?? OF COURSE I'LL BE GOING AS A STAR FLEET OFFICER!!
So, I have a NYAF post-con meetup tomorrow, which should be awesome~ There will be pics and everything!
...But that meetup will be preceeded by the SATs. DX Because, you know, excepcional scores simply aren't good enough. A 2040 out of 2400, a 1410 out of 1600- or it can be seen as a 630 out of 800 in writing, a 660 out of 800 in math, and a 750 OUT OF 800 IN CRITICAL READING simply isn't good enough. DX
On the other hand, Star Trek: TNG uniform. (Even if it is $50 and I'll have to save up for it... it's worth it.) And cosplay meetup. And I need to sleep now, so... yeah. Apologies if this made no sense...
Edward was by the window (it was a cloudy day, so no sparkle) when Will began dragging in the command chair. He was preoccupied as Japan noticed what was going on, and then alerted Data, who quickly went over to help Will move the chair. He was otherwise engaged as the command chair was set up on the Shelf. But when he tried to go over to the Shelf to... not sleep, but relax, and was stopped by Riker telling him he needed to ask for permission to board the Shelf, he was more than a little curious as to what was going on.
"Well, I am... more than a little curious. What exactly is going on?"
Previously, on Secret Life of Dolls…
So now that Data’s “protecting” Japan (although Japan has more than shown he can take care of himself) the Shelf has returned to normal. And it’s peaceful and quiet and nice… and then someone knocks on the door.
And… nobody enters. In fact, the door doesn’t even open. And, in my annoyance, I go over to the door to tell whoever it was out there off for not saying anything… and no one’s there. And then I look down.
( Ah. Did you... want me to attack him? )
Previously, on Secret Life of Dolls...
I ran to shut the window as Edward and Data fought. In hindsight, I probably should have, you know, stopped them from fighting first or something, but... well, you know what they say, hindsight is 20/20. In my own defense, I didn't exactly want another breeze rolling in and tempting Edward again.
"Well, of course I sound like a beginner! I am a beginner! Although the part about cat nails scratching a blackboard is entirely unnecissary."
"I have no record of her saying anything recently in my memory banks."
"But I clearly just heard you say.... Unless... but I can't hear either your or Data's thoughts..."
And then the door opened, and in walked...
( I have been here all of five minutes, and already my honor has been destroyed... )
You are Data
|Even though you are a genius|
you are always striving to be better.

What I hadn't noticed? Spot was being all *missing*.
( You're 104 and yet you're so immature!! )
Beyond that... remember that Data muse I was thinking about making earlier? Er... I'm making him right after I log out of this account. Also... I may be putting Maya Edgeworth on hold. I mean, even I'm accepting that pwdressingroom isn't really going to relive it's former glory again... but I don't really want to put an AU into a panfandom game... don't know about regular Maya though. On one hand, I kinda want to put her into 8_dressing, on the other... I don't need even more RP in my life right now. Well, no. I do, but I don't have time for it. XD
By the way... I've been thinking of making a post of all my RP muses. And cosplays. Just to, you know, have it.
And uh... YES!! Working on my Shiki cosplay!! It's... actually coming along pretty well!! I pretty much suck at making the hoodie part of it, but beyond that... it's not bad! Still need to cut and dye my wig... which I'm really not looking forward to. I've found a few tutorials for dyeing online (none for cutting a wig though... if anyone knows of a good one, help??) so it's not so much "HOW DO I DO IT??" it's more... I just feel uncomfortable permanently altering something like a wig, knowing how much I paid for it, and knowing that if I screw up... I can't exactly take it back. Gah.
Butbutbut- I'm also planning an Italy cosplay!! And it should be fun. Just to go into the food court at the Javits Center, have the people there ask what I want, and I respond "PASTAAAAAAAAA!!!!" And then they look at me and say "This place is full of freaks this weekend. What kind?"
Wow, this post was actually much longer than I expected... but I'm done now. Really. You can return to your previously scheduled programming. XD
1) Post a list of up to 20-15 books/movies/anime/TV shows/video games/etc.
2) Have your f-list guess your favorite character from each item.
These... well, most of them should really be fairly easy to guess, actually... XD
I brought up the subject while we were both at my desk, looking at the new Star Trek dolls that... I think Playmates is putting out.
( YOU DON'T KNOW!! YOU CAN'T KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE!!! )
YOU GUYS ARE SO VERY, VERY AWESOME. I love you all- you helped me out so much yesterday when I was feeling badly... I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!
Also... I just had one of the most awesome trips to Barnes & Nobles EVER today. I was there, and I saw (and bought) the Twilight movie (I know, I feel like such a failed Twihard for not having gotten it before...), the second book in the Beka Cooper series by Tamora Pierce, Bloodhound, and the Star Trek prequel to the movie!! I was actually so happy when I really looked in the last one- I knew it existed, and I'd seen it before, but I wasn't sure whether or not I actually wanted to spend the money for it... and then I looked inside, and saw that it involved something truly awesome with my favorite Star Trek character ever. And that's all I'll say on it- I don't want to spoil you guys~~ Also, because I haven't read it yet... ^_^;;
Oh, and as soon as I finish with this, I'm putting up a new Secret Life of Dolls. So... uh... sorry to spam you guys, but... yay it's back?
( House spoilers!! Again... )
"Edward... you okay? You seem kind of... annoyed, almost."
"I'm fine, thank you for asking."
"... Let me rephrase. What's wrong? I may be just a human, but I can tell when something's wrong, you know."
"Data is... it's like he doesn't have any emotions!!"
"Uh... that's because... he doesn't."
( He's just too adorable, all embarassed like this... I must find a way to cuddle him sometime soon )
Granted, it was kind of nice when he played music for me as I did my homework...
...but it was also kinda because he didn't have much else to do.
Luckily, someone new came along.
