FUUUUUUUUCK.

God, this sucks. I went from having an awesome weekend to...

THIS SUMMER IS GOING TO FUCKING SUCK.

All the summer stuff I applied for is falling through- I can't even get a fucking job!! Not even at the places that say they're hiring!!

And you know what the best part is? My parents say if I'm not doing something over the summer THEY'RE GOING TO FUCKING CUT OFF MY INTERNET.

...I hate the world right about now.

b-but it's not your fault nothing's working D:

Thing is, I really should have applied for things much earlier... now I'm screwed because all the programs I tried for filled up, which wouldn't have happened if I'd applied earlier. :/

Here are my suggestions: Call places for a follow-up on any and all applications you submit.

Network! As you mom and your dad, friends, aunts, uncles, if there are any openings or internships. If you know someone, everything's easier.

Try and try again. If they say the person you want to talk to isn't there, call again. And again. Go in and ask about hiring. Show your face.

Don't go in with friends. And don't have your parents call. Employers judge on that kind of stuff.

But yea, this is a really hard year. Everyone is having a hard time. Be calm and rational with your parents. Inform them of every app you submit, everywhere you call, etc. Have them go over apps or openings with you. Explain that if you don't have the internet, your ability to find openings will be cut in half. Yea, life without the internet sucks but you'd have a lot of time to do other stuff, like thinking about coming to Boston for a visit eventually! Or practicing something, drawing, reading, anything. Hang in there. You could always text me (or anyone!) if you really get to the point of no internet.

Hmm... my parents said they'd take away my texting too- they're honestly going to try to make my life miserable if I have nothing... although I don't really see how they can enforce that without losing the texting ability themselves...

But those are some good ideas! I'll definately try going in a few places... :)

Hahaha, well, let's hope it doesn't get to that I guess.

Yea, I'd try places like supermarkets and stores that have high turnover, meaning people quit a lot. Better chances that you'll get in, and you'll only need it for a month or two before school starts again...

Yeah, definately.

And supermarkets... there are certainly a lot around me- I'll try some of them~

I can't tell you much more than others. Just keep on trying and do follow-ups.But if money not an issue there is always volunteer work.

Yeah... I'm definately going to follow-up a few places, and there are a few volunteer opportunities I'm looking into... my hopes just aren't high.
