arthoniel: (Twilight- God doesn't want her to live)

I was thinking earlier... almost all of my opinions concerning Death Note are some of the most unpopular ones. (In bullet point form, because that's how the cool kids do it!)

-I am a genuine, bona fide Kira supporter. I honestly believe that Light has the right idea, killing criminals. I think he goes too far- the FBI agents, for example, didn't need to die. But if Kira were real, I would support him.

-I actually like Misa Amane. She's so cute! I don't know where people are coming from, calling her annoying.

-Near is a little sheep and can go die now, please.

-I don't support LxLight. I won't bash you if you do, but I never do that kind of thing anyway... otherwise, a lot of Zutara fans would be calling for my head. But I just... don't see it. And I don't support it.

-Mikami is the most evil character in the series. Light never enjoys killing criminals- he sees it as something he has to do, and it makes his life interesting, but he doesn't take pleasure from killing. Mikami does. He actually takes happiness from others dying- he's definately the most evil character in the series.

I'm sure there are others, but I can't really think of them right now... maybe I'll post them later. I dunno.

Incidentally, I really don't have enough black to mourn someone properly. Like, I'm in almost all black now, except my shirt has a logo on a black background... but I don't have enough black to mourn someone properly. And certainly not two people. I'm really gonna be depressed on Thursday too. And you know what really sucks? Thursday is my half birthday! And it's the day Light... yeah, in manga canon. I mean, WORST. HALF BIRTHDAY PRESENT. EVER. Not exactly like today is great either...

*sighs* I dunno. I'm just depressed today. And I'm gonna be a crying ball of mush on Thursday. Fantabulous.

Matt, Mello and especially Light are never really gone though. Ever.

I never really had much of an opinion either way on the whole Light was Right thing, since it's so contentious, but I like Misa too! Shit, she made that story for me. Everyone else was so srs bzns. Which one would imagine, but what is this taking things seriously nonsense

I assume it's because Misa gets in between L and Light having hot, hot makeouts. :B

also do IM me if you need to talk, bb

Exactly! I mean, she has to be the most adorable person ever. And, even Matsuda... he was so ridiculous, but he still took it all seriously. He didn't know how to take it seriously, but he did... but Misa was light, and fun, and she just made everything that much nicer... I really just don't get what people don't like about her. And I actually really, really want to RP her...

Oh, right. Clearly. Because, you know, it's not like both of them hated the other and literally wanted the other one dead or anything. If Misa hadn't been there, they clearly would have fallen in love. Obviously.

And thanks, but I'm feeling better... after I wrote that, I went over to a friend's house and we baked a cake in honor of the two of them, so I'm alright now... but if you sign back on, I may just talk to you anyway. Because you're just that awesome~

LOL it's okay, your views are actually kinda similar to mine. I dislike Near (though I didn't really like Mello either - he killed Light's daddy D:), I also dislike L/Light, and I liked Misa and Light. But I can't fully get behind Kira. How does he know that those criminals were guilty, or that they didn't have a VERY good reason to commit a crime? His only source was the media, which is a completely unreliable source. Even if he had spoken to each criminal individually, it would be impossible for him to make the proper decision all of the time, because it's impossible to truly know what is going through another's mind.

I know what you mean there- there are other people I've talked to who think the same thing. But then there are times when someone is CLEARLY guilty of a crime like murder, and they still deny it, hoping to get off or whatever even though it couldn't be more obvious that they did it. People who are just looking for an angle to get free on, without any regard or even feeling for those they killed, and THOSE are the kinds of people Light kills. He says it specifically- he doesn't kill the insane, he doesn't kill for crimes of passion (i.e., a guy walks into his house, sees his wife in bed with another guy, and shoots the other guy), etc. Just people who committed ruthless crimes for no reason and don't feel remorse for it. People who are truly evil. And that is something I believe in and agree with.

I completely agree with that, too - people who commit crimes for no reason, and would continue to do so if they were released, and have no remorse for the people they have hurt, do not deserve life. But there's always the possibility that Light accidentally killed someone who didn't deserve it and that bothers me. :( Like I said, his only real source was the internet and the news, which can be faulty at times. And as I recall, he occasionally killed minor criminals - pickpocketers and such, when he was toying with L. Light is just too imperfect to try to play God. All humans are. His original goal was to help society, which was good, but the power ultimately corrupted him because he was human. Any human in the same position would become corrupted, and would end up using the Death Note for their own ends rather than society's, even if they don't realize it (i.e. Light trying to kill anyone who got in his way, regardless of whether they are actually criminals or not.)

There IS the possibility, I guess... but I think that there are enough criminals like that in the world, and Light would have looked them up well enough that, at least when he started out, those are the only kinds of criminals he killed. And then after that... when he was just trying to screw with L, then he became more Kira than Light, and that's where I stop supporting him. But I agree with that last point too- any human with the Death Note would eventually become corrupted. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. As I've said- I support Light Yagami. I feel like, eventually, he gets taken over by Kira, and that's where he starts going crazy- killing FBI agents and the minorest of minor criminals for his mind games with L, and that's where he goes too far. But I absolutely support Light.

Omg Death Note. I have such love for this series. Although, I have to say, I do like the end of the live action movie better than the canon. Lol.

I like Misa too! I always sort of shipped Misa/L, only L's like way too awkward to be a human being, etc.

See, I think Light had the right idea, but he was corrupted. I would probably support Kira until he started killing police officers. Then it quit being about justice, and started being about what he could get away with.

Mikami, well, I don't see him as evil really. He enjoyed killing, but he wanted a perfect world. To me, he was more pure than Kira, because I think more than Light he wanted the world to be cleansed, rather than to rule it.

Anyway, yes. The end of DN is depressing.

I know!! Although I still haven't seen the live action movie... that needs to happen soon.

And Misa/L is totally my crackship. Although that may or may not have something to do with the fact that I pretty much AM Misa, but I'm in love with L as well as Light, so. Yes. XD

And yeah, those are pretty much my thoughts exactly as well. I support him up to the point where he starts killing the FBI.

Mikami... I dunno though. I think he was trying to do God's work and all, but he still took real joy from killing people, not just cleansing the world. He didn't want to rule the world, but he still liked killing people, and... I dunno. I just see him as evil.

But yes, it is!! Gah, I just... *cries* Tomorrow is gonna be awful for me...
