Yeah... it's because they're not always as good, or they're more expensive... or they just don't have one in their town. There's a whole host of reasons... but it's actually pretty typical for Americans to go away to college and dorm there.
And... huh. I mean, when I'm at home, I eat meals with my family, and I guess we're kinda close... but... I dunno. We're better than the average American family, but... I still don't feel extraordinarily close to my family.
