Wednsday afternoon, awkward questions
Jun. 20th, 2007 05:22 pm- Awkward Question #1: Would you rather be called boring to your face or behind your back? Really this is just out of curiosity, because I don't have that choice, I have both! This happened several months ago, but it's been weighing on my mind lately, I was talking with one of my friends, and I was saying how I might want to change my name when I get old enough, because Emma is just such a boring name. No offense to my other friends named Emma, but I just don't really like it on myself that much. But I was telling my friend this, and she says: "But Emma, your name is so perfect for you! It's just like you, really nice, sweet, housewifey, predictable, boring... it's perfect for you!" I may have paraphrased a little, but still. I don't know though, I am just kind of looking for compliments a little, so this is a perfect way to get them, but still...
- Awkward Question #2: Okay, so this one isn't a question, it's a statement, but just as awkward!: "Emma, you look possessed!" Seriously, I was riding home on the train from Bio tutoring for the Regents the other day, and Elise looks at me, and bursts out laughing. I give the obvious response: "Um... what?" and she tells me I look possessed. It's really... wierd. I do try to give my eyes more emotion than any other part of my body, because I want to have expressive eyes, and I think it's really interesting when other people do, but that was really odd. And now Elise can't look at me without bursting into laughter. I know that wasn't so much a question, but it's still awkward enough to make the list...
Okay, I'm done with the self-pitying part of this. On the good side of today, I was talking with Jackie over MySpace, and it turns out we're both in the same theater group: T5! I'm so happy I'm actually going to know someone in the cast because it always makes it easier, or at least it did last year with Sammi, but my one problem is that she's actually good, she got the lead in her group last year, which means it will be harder for me to get a good part... but I'll try anyway! Okay, yeah that does sound like that wierd optomistic, inspirational crap that they give three year olds on TV these days but whatever....
