So. When we last left them, Edward and Data were getting along awesomely. They'd talked about thier pasts, where they were from... it was really kinda nice. I started to sense a certain... annoyance in Edward though, so I pulled him aside to ask him about it.

"Edward... you okay? You seem kind of... annoyed, almost."

"I'm fine, thank you for asking."

"... Let me rephrase. What's wrong? I may be just a human, but I can tell when something's wrong, you know."

"Data is... it's like he doesn't have any emotions!!"

"Uh... that's because... he doesn't."

"Well, I know that, but... he's completely unresponsive when I talk about Bella!! Has he really never had anyone of his own??"

Ooh. Wow. Damn. I hadn't expected that question so soon...

"Well, he... uh... that is..."

"You mean he has??"

"That's... not my story to tell. You should ask him about that..."

Edward looked over at me wierdly, and I narrowed my eyes. Hey, I'm not that much of a gossip... I'm not entirely sure how much he believes that though. I'm a human girl, and I'm not Bella, so he probably believes at least a little that I'm like most of the girls in Forks. Or maybe he just hates me a little for sticking him into a sausage fest without Bella. Or possibly he's heard me talking with my friends.... Either one works. Anyway, he went over to Data, and I... well, I won't beat around the bush. I went to eavesdrop.

"Data... may I ask you something?"

"Yes, of course."

"Have you ever... had someone who was special to you? More than a friend- someone who just... meant a lot to you?"

"Yes."

"... Could you tell me about her?"

"She was Lieutenant Commander Tasha Yar. We were... intimate. She was an extraordinary woman... but she died several years ago."

"She died? That's rough... wait, you were intimate? As in, did you..." If Edward could blush, that's clearly what he would be doing here. He's almost too much of a gentleman to say it. "...sleep with her?"

"Ah. You know I cannot sleep, so I assume you are asking whether or not I had sexual relations with her, correct?"

"...yes..." He's just too adorable, all embarassed like this... I must find a way to cuddle him sometime soon.

"Yes, I did."

"Forgive me for asking, but... how? You don't have to go into detail or anything, obviously, but... you're like me- stronger and faster than any human. Didn't you... hurt her?"

"No. I am capable of controlling myself."

Edward narrowed his eyes.

"Are you now."

"Yes. I am."

And suddenly, Edward's across the room, muttering something, and throwing evil glances upward towards the Shelf. I didn't hear exactly what he said before I was glowered away, but I could swear I caught something about "what's he trying to say about me?" I don't think I'll be getting that cuddle just yet...
