...My English teacher is just... ugh. Doesn't really know how to teach. Not like Mr. Rodriguez of Music  and Spanish 2 infamy can't teach, but... he needs to make what he wants in an assignment clear before he tells us to hand it in. Today. When it's half hand-written and half typed, and none of it is dated, like he wants it to be. So I'm not up at 11 at night, trying desperately to finish typing and then print everything since he gave me a day's grace to finish typing it all up. Even though I also had a thing at my school tonight about college applications, so I didn't get home until 8:30, at which point my dad decided that he wanted to have dinner right then, so I couldn't start until 9...  DX

Also, does anyone know how to cheer someone up who has clinical depression and forgot to take her meds, like my freshman from last year (although I guess she's my sophomore now...) did today? Just in case it happens again...

Coming from personal experience, nothing really works for depression as one of the biggest problems is that when you're depressed, all the things you normally love to do and that make you happy just.. don't anymore. The best advice I can give you is to just let her know that you're there for her and to really encourage her to talk to you if she's having a hard time. Also, depending on how depressed she is, if you see her during breaks, try and make her laugh or engage her in conversation involving topics that she loves or always gets her into a heated debate, or do something with her that she really loves.

Surround her with as many things that would normally make her happy and while it won't stop her from being depressed, it should at least help make her feel better, if only for a little while.

Yeah... my friend forgot to take her meds yesterday for her depression, and then her English teacher started bitching her out because she hadn't finished her homework, and she felt like total shit so she started putting herself down and nothing I said could convince her otherwise and... god, I've almost never felt so helpless- I just had no idea what to do. So... thanks for the advice. Hopefully I won't need to use it... but it's good to know in case I do.

I don't think there's anything you can do to cheer-up someone withclinical depression D:
I mean, I did try cheering my mom up a couple of times, and failed misserably. AND SHE WAS MY MOM AND I WAS HER CUTE DAUGHTER TELLING HER "Mommy, why are you sad? I love you so much, you shouldn't be sad if you have my love" AND KISSED HER. WHY AM I YELLING!?

Yeah... I mean, I've studied it, and they literally cannot really feel happiness or pleasure from anything... I was just wondering if there was anything that could at least help at all...
