Title: Logical Explanation
Fandom: Ace Attorney
Characters/Pairings: Miles Edgeworth/Maya Fey
Warnings: Kinda fluffy. It is a shipping fic. And he's just too adorable for words.
Author's Notes: Written for pw_contest. I was gonna try to do something with AAI, since it has Miles in it and everything, but... eh. Also, this is a new style of writing for me, so... I may not be the best at it just yet. But I still thought I'd give it a whirl. Anyway, I hope you like it~

 

I need some spirits.

Spirit: A word for a strong alcoholic beverage that I need. Also a word for a ghost or an apparition. Like the one Miss Fey appeared to summon into her own body in court today.

How she did that… it’s impossible, obviously. She is herself, and that other person is, not only dead, but her own self. The very idea of her summoning a spirit is absolutely ludicrous.

So why that experience changed how she looked is beyond me. Why she looked so natural and completely herself after the “spirit left her body” is obviously her trying to further this illusion. Or maybe she knew what a becoming look it was for her. I cannot ignore the possibility that Wright’s assistant is far craftier than he gives her credit for.

That must be it. The fact that she is proving to be a woman of intelligence. That is obviously why I cannot stop thinking about her. She simply surprised me earlier today, and I am taking that in, and sorting it out.

Detective Gumshoe has no idea what he’s talking about. The idea that I’m attracted to her. Just because she is a beautiful woman does not mean… it means nothing.

Detective Gumshoe: Remember to deduct from his monthly salary.

Perhaps it is the season. Pollen from some flower that blooms around now is possibly affecting me differently from how it normally would. That must be it. It’s the logical conclusion.

The next time I see her, I will have to investigate further. Perhaps I can invite her to a lunch to see more of her for myself, first hand.

I-I mean. To see more of how she affects those around her. She must be doing this purposely. It’s the logical explanation.

That and the pollen.

Hahaha, adorable is absolutely right--this was darling! Oh Edgey. I love the stream-of-unconsciousness deal going on here--it's quite Edgeworth-when-flustered. <3 Oh, and how his "logical" explanation is so clearly not. Wonderfully written, loved it! <3

Err... Except... I know I should have made this more clear, but in the future, could you please post your entry within the community only until the end of the round? ^^;; I don't think this was a rule we enforced much before.... It's okay for this round, just... in the future? ^^;;

Fluffy~ One of things to watch for in this style of fic is the right voice for character, but I think your Edgeworth was at the right pitch here ^^ The very idea of her summoning a spirit is absolutely ludicrous. +5 points for Edgeworthiness.

Also, I'm all for experimenting on new styles <3
