Author's Notes: So two and a half weeks after it was requested, and a week since I got back from Regents Break, I finally managed to write this, so I hope you like it,

fearfulwarrior! Yes, I know I'm very late, I'm a horrible person, etc. Anywho, two things I really want to say: 1) The idea? Not mine. This is totally _loudnproud_'s, and she will probably be doing her own better version of it later, and 2) this is mostly dialouge. I know that can be kinda wierd, but I just didn't know how else I could tell it. And... the Pirates of the Caribbean referance is intentional.  XD Anyways, enjoy!

 

It was the perfect time. Aang and Katara were off somewhere practicing waterbending, and she and Sokka were completely alone, and just sitting on a log. Doing nothing. Not in a bad, lazy kind of way Toph reasoned to herself, just in a... comfortable, relaxed way. But they were alone. This was her chance! The opportune moment. So...

"Hey Sokka, can I ask you something?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you want to go out with me? To dinner. On a date."
"Hey! No fair!"
"What?"
"I'm the guy! I'm supposed to ask you out!"
"Well, it's not my fault you never said anything!"
"I did! I gave... um... subtle hints!!"
"Sure you did Snoozles. Come on, I couldn't just sit around forever, waiting for you to work up the courage to ask me out!"
"Are you insulting my bravery!?"
"And if I am?"
"Then you're buying the drinks!"
"Fine!"

Niiiice, very nice concept. Very in character. Though I gotta say, it feels like it stops a little short. Like it would've gone further, had you let it? Maybe it's just me. Anyway, good job.

Thank you! It was actually my friend's idea... but it's nice to know I wrote it well. XD

And yeah, it probably does stop a little short... I wrote this during lunch while trying to look like I'm doing something important, so that doesn't actually surprise me. I might re-write it though... so thanks for the advice! ^_^
