...Guys, I think I'm almost straight edge.

I mean, I don't have a problem with drinking or whatever in general... but when I hang out with friends and the cigarettes/alcohol come(s) out, I find excuses to leave. I mean, I have a legit reason for not wanting to be around cigarettes- smoke could destroy my voice, and I don't want to take any chances with that because it's everything for what I do. But people being drunk weirds me out too. I don't think any less of people who do it, but... it's very much not my scene. And once people start getting drunk, I invariably find an excuse to leave. And if drugs are involved, I will get the hell out of there... if I was there in the first place.

Like I said, I think I'm almost straight edge.

I say "almost" because, while drinking/smoking/drugs freak me out... like hell would I give up intimacy just to be a perfect little goody two shoes. That's just a massive no. I haven't even been doing it for that long, but. No.

Ahahahah. I actually didn't know what "straight-edge" was until last year, when it was applied to me. Heck, it's not such a bad thing, I suppose. Drunk people weird me out too. O___o

Oh, no, I'm not saying that it's bad or anything... it's just not something I thought was me. I mean, I used to think that my weirdness around drunk people was just inexperience... but now I have more experience, and I'm still weirded out when people are drunk around me. So. It's just a thing. That I noticed. XD

Haha, I'm not saying that it's a bad thing to be straight edge... I just never thought that it would be something that would really even almost describe me, you know? I used to think that my weirdness around drunk people was just inexperience, but... I'm actually weirded out by it. I dunno. It's just a musing of mine. XD

Hahaha, I know what you mean. Straight-edge is used awfully liberally to describe, well, everything.

Maybe it's 'cause they seem so out-of-control? That's what weird me out about them...

Legit. I mean, I'm not even entirely sure what it's formal definition is, anymore. XD

And yeah. That's definately a major part of it. And then especially when they're underage... especially especially when they're not even 18 kind of underage, and they tell me that they need alcohol to be able to function in social situations.
